The Practice currently uses SMS text messaging for Appointment Confirmation and Reminders, Health Promotion initiatives such as Flu Jabs, Smoking Cessation, NHS Health Check invitations, issuing of Fitnotes and Blood Forms, advice and guidance Leaflets and Prescription Collection Notifications.
This service is available for all patients who own a mobile phone and are aged 16 years upwards, as well as children up to 13 years of age but is not available for 13 to 15 year olds, although they will be able to re-register in their own right from their 16th birthday.
Parents / guardians can register their children who are under the age of 13 years but once the child reaches their 13th Birthday this facility will be removed and their registered Mobile Number deleted from their patient record; this is to ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained as best as possible and you will receive prior notification from the Practice before this access is removed.
