Dupuytren's disease is a condition where scar-like tissue forms just below the skin of your finger and the palm of your hand. Over time, this fibrous tissue can contract and force one or more of your fingers to curl up into the palm. This is called Dupuytren's Contracture.
Following a referral from your GP Practice, you will initially be offered a consultation with the surgeon. If treatment is appropriate, you will be offered an appointment to have the procedure. The length of the operation varies but is generally between 30-50 minutes and, as it is done under a local anaesthetic, you will be able to go home the same day.
